The subdivisions of Prague, ...Thank you, Blanko!

The subdivisions of Prague, or even what "Prague" is, is a huge mess. It is a challenge.

Every dozen years or so the Municipal district numbers change. The arabic number after "Praha" may mean the old district numbers (1-10 from 1960's), or the pre-1960 districts, or the 1995-2001 administrative districts (1-15), or the current administrative districts (1-22, since 2001) or the current municipal districts. And there these areas are again numbered differently using the Roman numbers, which again mean different things. And of course there is numbering for judicial districts, and police districts, and senatorial districts, etc.

I found that the names of the cadastral areas be they one of 57 městských částí or 22 správních obvodů do not change their location over time. Sometimes the borders of 57 městske části shift, but not as drastically as the number subdivisions of Prague.P.D.Mlynekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00922785988182030330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-867672851903497494.post-50357691908985326402011-10-30T09:04:38.472-07:002011-10-30T09:04:38.472-07:00After reading this, I think I'm glad my ancest...After reading this, I think I'm glad my ancestors came from small villages in Moravia! This looks very complicated. But it's all fun, isn't it?CollProfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04033979782200010659noreply@blogger.com
