Sad, but just a fact. I have done a plague research in Horní Záhoří parish where ancestors of my husband lived. It's in Czech but you can see it here: http://rodopisna-revue-online.tode.cz/regiony/mor.pdf
Yes, that's just what the parish of Kasejovice looks like. I suppose it gives you an idea of the different family groups who lived in an area, but it must have been quite horrible to experience.
It made me cry, when I saw several children & parents, dying all in the same year or even month, in the death indexes on Actipublica. I can't imagine losing most of your family to one of these diseases. Thank you for posting Blanka.
Also "hitzige" = German term for typhus, which was indicated in the historical register as the cause of death of my 4th great grandfather František Kadlec in May of 1814 http://genwiki.genealogy.net/Krankheit,_hitzige
Ah. Now I see why there were pages and pages and pages of deaths listed in my tiny village in 1680. Sad. :(

ReplyDeleteMy Great Great Great Grand Mother died because of Typhus in 1875, just 4 years after she gave birth to my Great Great Grand Father :(
